Happy New Year to everyone! This week has flown by and it’s been great to see the children again and catch up with what Santa brought them for Christmas.
We have started a new topic called ‘Through The Ages’. To begin with, we have started looking at the Stone Age. All children have had the opportunity this week to try some cave painting and tell a story through pictures using paint. One of the most interesting facts we have discovered so far is that people were named after things in nature, imagine being called Bird-Poo!
In Maths, we have continued our work on multiplication and looked into factors of numbers and written methods for multiplication. It hasn’t been easy but we have persevered and are now much more confident.
In English, children wrote a diary entry in character as a Neolithic man or woman. There were some outstanding pieces of writing and some great imaginative ideas. We have also looked at giving the reader lots of information and detail by describing events and objects carefully.
Year 4 Parents:
Swimming starts again next week and the final payment date for Robinwood is Monday 16th January. You should have also received a letter with key information and dates on it. If you have any questions, please see Mr Gamble or pop into the school office.
