LKS2 News24 Mar 2016It’s been a busy week leading up to Easter in Year 3/4.
Both year groups have been writing exciting and mysterious adventure stories in English work. Our budding authors are working hard to include lots of description to set the scene of their story and to create a sense of mystery and suspense.
In Maths work we have been continuing to measure in all sorts of different way, from measuring perimeter to telling the time. This has involved anything from getting outside and measuring the playground to working out film-times in the Class 4 cinema!
Our topic work has been very creative over the past week with the finishing touches being made to our clay figures in Art; and to the 3D Maya temple models in DT. Upon completing these, the children have been looking back at their work to complete an evaluation of their own creations.
Science work has seen us becoming more familiar with the ways in which living things are classified. We have even created our own classification keys to group animals by their identifying characteristics!
One of the most exciting parts of this week has certainly been the Enterprise event across the whole school.
In team colour-groups, the children have chosen ways to raise money at the first ever Cookridge Enterprise Fair. We spent all day on Tuesday busily creating all kinds of wonderful things, from buns and biscuits, to Easter baskets and fun games to play.
I hope you enjoyed the Enterprise event as much as we did preparing it!
