Key Stage 1 Weekly News06 May 2016This week have been extremely busy and we are still buzzing from our trip to Kirkstall Abbey!
Class 1 have created their own non-fiction books all about toys, using the I-pads to research first and Class 2 have written their own instructions about how to make a teddy bear. Class 3 have written recounts about our trip, as Mr Kerr was really confused as we had all told him different stories.
In Class 1 we have continued to learn about money, using our number bonds to help us add two different amounts of money .Class 2 have been doing multiplication and division in their maths using 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.
Class 3 have been practising their fractions, finding ½, ¼, 1/3 and ¾ of a number and objects. We have enjoyed played fraction pairs.
In Science we have been learning about seed germination and wild plants. We have been monitoring our sunflower seeds. Who’s will grow the biggest? As part of our ICT we have been programming and de-bugging bee bots, getting them to different places.
Have you any old socks at home that the sock monster has eaten it’s matching partner. KS1 would really appreciate these lonely socks to recycle and give a new lease of life as a sock puppet!
