Hello and welcome to Class 2. We are a class of 23 Year 1 children. Our teacher is called Miss. Cowles and this is her second year at Cookridge Primary School. She really likes dancing and often starts the day with a song and a dance to wake us all up so we are ready for learning. Miss Cowles also likes computers. She is good at ICT and sometimes has to help the other teachers when their computers don’t work properly!

Mrs. Brookes works in Class 2 as well. She works with us in small groups to help us with our learning. She also spends time reading with us individually which really helps us to improve our reading skills. Mrs. Brookes teaches us on a Wednesday afternoon when Miss. Cowles has her planning time. We like doing creative activities with her. Mrs. Harrowsmith teaches us on Thursday afternoons too.

In Class 2, we enjoy using the different areas in our classroom which help us with our learning. We particularly love using the role play area which may be a scientist’s lab, a construction site or an old fashioned school room. We have a creative area where we can cut, stick, paint, and make things with play-dough. We also have a reading and a writing area to allow us to practice our literacy skills. We like to use the number area to count, measure and practice adding and subtracting. And finally, our construction area, which is always full of children building various models with the lego.
